Germany. Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom). Temple inaugurated in 1905. It was built by order of Emperor Wilhelm II (1859-1941) between 1894 and 1905, under the direction of German architect Julius Carl Raschdorff (1823-1914). Also known as the Evangelical Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church, it is a monumental German Protestant church and dynastic tomb (House of Hohenzollern). Statues representing Saint Luke (left) and Saint John (right) on the main facade. Sculpted in copper by German sculptors Gerhard Janensch (1860-1933) and Johannes Gotz (1865-1934). Below, relief depicting Martin Luther (1483-1546) among the Reformers, by German sculptor Johannes Gotz (1865-1934), 1904.
