Berlin, Germany. Statue of Saint George slaying the dragon. Bronze sculpture created between 1853 and 1855 by August Kiss (1802-1865). It was originally located in the courtyard of the Berlin Palace (Stadtschloss). After the building was demolished, it was relocated to Volkspark Friedrichshain. With the reconstruction of the Nikolaiviertel, the equestrian statue was placed in the historic centre of Berlin, next to the River Spree, opposite St. Nicholas' Church.
