Chief Samson Dido of Didotown. Prince of the Duala ethnic group from Cameroon. Important figure in relations between Germany and German Cameroon (Africa), a protectorate of the German Empire between 1884 and 1916. Hired by German businessman Carl Hagenbeck, in 1886 he travelled to Germany to show the German people the customs and traditions of Cameroon, taking part with his family in ethnographic exhibitions for several months.
