Madrid, Spain. Napoleonic Invasion. The Marshal of the Empire Joachim Murat (1767-1815) daily appeared in public surrounded by his imperial guard, reviewing his troops every Sunday at the Prado. On Sunday, 1st May 1808, after passing through the Puerta del Sol, the crowd whistled and shouted at him.
