Icon of St. Maxim the Blessed. 18th century. From the Saint Maximus the Blessed Church on Varvarka Street, Moscow. Tempera on wood. State Tretyakov Gallery. Maximus the Blessed lived in Moscow at the end of the 14th century. The icon depicts a religious procession, called on the icon 'the transfer' of his relics. The procession moves along Red Square past the Kremlin walls, the Spasskaya Tower with a clock.
