John Collier (born January 28, 1850 in London, died April 11, 1934 in London), British writer and Pre-Raphaelite painter, here his work: Lady Godiva (1898), depicts the Anglo-Saxon noblewoman Godiva, who, according to legend, rode naked on a horse through Coventry to persuade her husband to lower taxes for the citizens.
