Pendant with Saint George. Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. Late 16th - early 17th century. Legend: According to Count A.A. Matveev, the pendant was the Order of the Garter and belonged to his father, Artamon Matveev, head of the Ambassadorial Prikaz in 1671-1676. The ""Order"" was allegedly sent from King Charles II Stuart for the support from Russian ambassador during the years of exile. The original statutes of the Order of the Garter are attached to the pendant. Moscow Kremlin Museum.
