Lazhutai candlestick. China. Second half of the 17th century. State Oriental Museum, Moscow. The decor of the two scalloped trays of the candlestick uses multi-colored Shou hieroglyphs, meaning ""longevity."" The column depicts plant shoots with lotus flowers. Its images are a symbol of peace and harmony in the family.
