Notebook in a gold case. Germany. Russia. Mid-18th century. Author unknown. Perhaps this work was presented to Empress Elizabeth Petrovna as a souvenir. The notebook's binding is made of gold plates in the form of stems and branches. The jeweler used 455 diamonds weighing a total of 70 carats to decorate this piece. The book has never been used.
