Icon. The Assumption of the Virgin. Kyiv. Ukraine. First quarter of the 18th century. Tempera on wood. The iconostasis of Tsarina Eudokia Feodorovna Lopukhina (1669-1731), the first wife of Peter I. It was located above the tomb of the Tsarina in the Smolensk Cathedral. It includes icons brought by the Tsarina as a nun from various monasteries. From Novodevichy Convent.
