Elegy. 1893. Vasnetsov Apollinary (1856-1933). Oil on canvas. State Tretyakov Gallery. Vasnetsov spent the night in an abandoned cemetery and made sketches for a future painting. This is Crimea, an old cemetery of the Kuchuk-Lambat estate on Cape Plaka. From here there is a view of Ayudag, Mount Kastel, the Sudak Mountains and the Black Sea.
