Alcestis, or The Triumph of Alcides (Alceste, ou Le Triomphe d'Alcide). Musical tragedy in a prologue and five acts. Music by French composer Jean-Baptiste Lully (1632-1687), based on a libretto by Philippe Quinault (1635-1688). The opera premiered on 19 January 1674 in Paris.
