Moliere evoking the genie of comedy to punish vice and unmask hypocrisy. Engraving by Huyot based on a painting discovered in Paris by the architect M. du Seigneur, attributed to Mignard or Lebrun. It was destroyed by fire on 24 May 1871. XVIIme siecle: lettres, sciences et arts, France 1590-1700 (17th century: letters, sciences and arts), by Paul Lacroix. Published in Paris by Librairie de Firmin-Didot et Cie, 1882.
