Jacques-Francois Menou (1750-1810), called Abdallah de Menou when he converted to Islam, after marrying an Egyptian woman. French general of the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He held the rank of field marshal in 1789 when he was elected by the Second State of the Bailiwick of Touraine to the Estates General of 1789. In 1798, he commanded one of the five divisions of the Armee d'Orient in the Egyptian campaign.
