Antoine Christophe Merlin (1762-1833), known as Merlin de Thionville. French politician. On 4 September 1791 he was elected deputy for the department of Moselle to the Legislative Assembly. In September 1792 he was re-elected deputy for Moselle to the National Convention. He took part in the Thermidorian Reaction that led to the fall of Robespierre and was appointed to the Committee of General Security on 31 July 1794.
