Francois Claude de Bouille (Francois Claude Amour du Chariol) (1739-1800), Marquis de Bouille. French general and colonial administrator. Governor of Guadeloupe (1769-1771) and the French Antilles (French West Indies) (1777-1783). He supported King Louis XVI, being the main conspirator involved in the failed royal Flight to Varennes during the night of 20-21 June 1791. Portrait. Engraving by Jonnard.
