Charles Antoine Chasset (1745-1824). French lawyer and politician. Deputy of Beaujolais for the Third Estate to the Estates General of 1789. Elected deputy of Beaujolais at the National Assembly (1789-1791), and of Rhone at the National Convention (1792-1798). He was president of the Constituent Assembly (8 to 20 November 1790). He was a member of the Council of Five Hundred (1795) and later at the Council of Elders (1798). Senator from 1799 until the end of the French Empire.
