Franz Joseph I (18 August 1830 - 21 November 1916), Franz Joseph Karl, of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, was Emperor of Austria, Apostolic King of Hungary and King of Bohemia from 2 December 1848 until his death. Painting by John Quincy Adams, in the service uniform of an Austrian field marshal. Historical, digitally restored reproduction of a model from that time. .
