The richly decorated chalice of Saint Remigius. Remigius of Reims (436 to 533) was a bishop of Gallo-Roman nobility in what is now eastern France. He became known for baptizing the Merovingian king Clovis I and is venerated as one of the great saints of the Frankish people. From the Cathedral of Reims, France. Historical, digitally enhanced reproduction from an original from around 1860.
