Joanna I of Castile, known as Joanna the Mad (November 6, 1479 – April 12, 1555), was Queen of Castile from 1504 and Queen of the Realms of the Crown of Aragon from 1516. She was the heir of Philip I of Castile, known as the Handsome (July 22, 1478 – September 25, 1506), Duke of Burgundy from 1482. From 1504 until his death, he was King of Castile and Leon as the husband of Joanna of Castile. Based on a work of art by Johann Wilhelm Kaiser, historical, digitally restored reproduction of a 19th-century original. .
