History of Spain. Leon-Gijon railway line or Asturias railway line. It connected Asturias with the Meseta Central (Inner Plateau). The section that completed the line, the Rampa de Pajares (Pajares Ramp), was inaugurated on 15 August 1884 by King Alfonso XII in the village of Busdongo (Leon province), at the southern mouth of La Perruca Tunnel.
