History of Spain. Porcuna, Jaen province, Andalusia. Tower of Boabdil. It was commissioned by Luis de Guzman, Master of the Order of Calatrava, between 1411 and 1435. It was erected on a corner of the old Moorish castle. Boabdil (Muhammad XII of Granada), the last sultan of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada, was imprisoned there when he was captured by Christian forces of the Crown of Castile in the Battle of Lucena (23 April 1483).
