Napoleonic Wars. War of the First Coalition (1792-1797). Battle of Lodi (10 May 1796). It faced the army led by Napoleon Bonaparte against the coalition troops commanded by General Sebottendorf. Napoleon won a victory that allowed him to conquer the bridge of Lodi, on the banks of the Adda River. Napoleon Bonaparte at the Battle of Lodi. The scene depicts the Austrian retreat towards Mantua after General Beaulieu's attempt to block the French at Lodi.
