Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871). Battle of Worth, 6 August 1870. Prussian troops commanded by Crown Prince Frederick William, and led by General Leonhard Graf von Blumenthal (1810-1900), defeated the French under Marshal MacMahon (1808-1893) near the village of Woerth in Alsace.
