Mary Cassatt (1844-1926) was the only American artist to exhibit with the impressionists in Paris. She became known for her paintings of domestic moments, especially her pictures of women and children. Her works were among the first impressionist works seen in the United States. This painting is titled ""Woman with a Fan."".
