The coins and medals shown here were minted during the siege of Paris of 1590. The figure is Charles X of Bourbon. He was a cardinal and the Catholic League considered him the lawful king of France after the assassination of Henri III by the Dominican friar Jacques Clement. The Catholic League named him Charles X in Paris in Parliament in 1589.
