Napoleonic Wars. French Campaign in Egypt and Syria (1798-1801). Battle of Mount Tabor (16 April 1799). Forces of the French Army of the West, commanded by General Jean-Baptiste Kleber, were attacked by an Ottoman military contingent led by Ahmed Bajah, governor of Damascus.
