Group of Buddhist monks and altar, Kandy

Légende

A large group portrait of Buddhist monks gathered around an altar. The shrine displays a central bronze Buddha figure with elaborate tiered parasol. Surrounding the Buddha are smaller votive Buddhas, candles, incense and glass domes with flowers. The monks are dressed in robes and two of them hold large alms bowls. Four young boys sit in front of the altar, one holds a book and another holds a rectangular tin. Caption reads: Buddhist priests at Temple, Kandy with relics.
