The Nose Dance, after a 16th century woodcut by Nikolaus Meldemann. A rural German dance festival from the middle ages. Prizes suspended from a pole are for largest noses entered in the competition and include a garland and a nose sock. From Illustrierte Sittengeschichte vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart by Eduard Fuchs, published 1909.
