Melrose Park, Illinois July 1942 Just two months on the job, Mighnon Gunn reconditions used spark plugs for reuse in testing airplane motors in the Buick Plant in Melrose Park, IL. Many women entered the workforce for the first time during WWII, taking over factory jobs that were usually worked by the men now fighting in the war.
