New York, New York March, 1948 European middlewight champion Marcel Cerdan stands over a fallen Lavern Roach in the 8th round at Madison Square Garden. Cerdan later died in a plane crash in 1949, while Roach died from a brain hemorrhage suffered during the Georgie Small fight in 1950.
