Hungary. Siege of Eger (1552). Ottoman troops under the command of Kara Ahmed Pasha laid siege to the castle of Eger in the northern part of the Kingdom of Hungary. The defenders, led by Istvan Dobo, repelled the attacks and defended the castle. Heroic defence by the inhabitants of Eger. Engraving by Trichon and Janet Lange.
