"Convention of London" (1786). Convention concluded between the King of Spain and the King of Great Britain, to explain, extend and give effect to the provisions of Article VI of the definitive peace treaty of 1783. It was signed in London on 14 July 1786; and ratified by both sovereigns (Charles III and George III of England). The agreement concerned the status of British settlements on the Mosquito Coast in Central America. Great Britain evacuated those settlements and, in exchange, Spain expanded the territory available to British lumberjacks on the Yucatan Peninsula.
