August 17, 1945 - General George S. Patton, Commander of the US Third Army inspects French troops in the courtyard of the historic Hotel des Invalides in PAris. Gen Patton oresented French officers with old battle flags of France, captured by members of the Third Army's XXth Corps in Bavaria. The flags will hang in the Invalides Museum.
