Persia, Isfahan. The Allahverdi Khan Bridge, also called Si-o-se-pol. It was built over the Zayanderud River, between 1599 and 1602 under the reign of Abbas I. Its construction was supervised by Allahverdi Khan Undiladze, commander in chief of the armies. Engraving by Lemaitre, depicting one of the deck levels of the bridge. Panorama Universal.
