Légende

Abraham Lincoln's travels through Massachusetts, map from 1848. Abraham Lincoln, at the time a Whig Congressman from Illinois, came to Massachusetts in 1848 to speak in favor of General Zachary Taylor and Millard Fillmore for President and Vice President of the United States. The map was created in 1948 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of then Congressman Lincoln’s visit and shows the railroads and depots via which he traveled, the halls in which he spoke, and homes and hotels in which he slept.
