"Our boys need the makins on their way "over there" : an Army Girl's Transport Tobacco Fund does it." Color poster issued between 1917 and 1919 showing three soldiers waving good-bye on their way to the war in Europe. One is smoking while another is lighting up a cigarette. The Army Girl's Transport Tobacco Fund helped supply soldiers with the "makins" (tobacco and papers used to roll cigarettes) and with cigarettes for the front. An Army Girl's Transport Tobacco Fund was established by Margaret Sumner Carson.
