(17 Feb. 1997) --- This wide shot of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) in Discovery's cargo bay, backdropped against Australia, was taken during the fifth space walk added to complete servicing of the orbiting observatory. Astronauts Steven L. Smith (center frame) and Mark C. Lee (on robot arm) are conducting a survey of the hand rails on HST. In foreground is the hatchway that connects to Discovery's shirt sleeve environment of the crew cabin.
