Légende

Italian political cartoon shows a large building extending from left to right center, with many doors labeled 'Equateur', [France], 'Autriche', 'Angleterre', 'Espagne', 'Suisse', and 'Belgio'; flags for each country hang from upper storey windows or parapets, and standing at each open door is a woman representing that country, most are looking to the right through telescopes at the British Lion in a garden across a small channel of water. At the door labeled 'Equateur' is an unconcerned black woman holding up a dead rabbit to offer the lion should it flee from the 'Cuarenticie Itali' parachute caught on the top of a domed building, possibly the dome of St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican, in the upper right background.
