The old and the new. On the left, a wood and wire egg case used around 1880 to ship 240 eggs. Each egg was held by 2 wire loops which are attached to a wooden tray. In the center, a 12-dozen egg carrier used as early as 1870. On the right a modern standing 30-dozen egg case. 1950.
