1937, Mexico - Leon Trotsky shortly before he was assassinated by a Comintern agent. As Stalin's only possible rival for power by the close of the 1920's, Trotsky was exiled to Soviet Siberia, then permitted to flee the Soviet Union. He came to Mexico in the mid-1930s and persisted in his opposition to Stalin.
