Oct 11, 1943 - A parachute bomb, dropped from a B-25 Mitchell bomber of the 5th US Air Force, drifts toward enemy gun emplacements during a raid on the Japanese airfield at Boram, near Wewak, on the nothern coast of New Guinea. A photo crew of the Fifth Air Force skimmed the tree tops to take this picture at a level far below that of most aerial photographs.
