Print shows a crowded scene around a scaffold beneath a gibbet in Moscow as Emel'i?a?n Ivanovich Pugachev arrives in a horse-drawn wagon under heavy guard; three additional gibbets have been erected in the background. Pugachev, a pretender to the throne, was executed for claiming that he was Peter III.
