Honorary decree for the proxenoi (consul) of Abydos. The Athenians honor the proxenoi of Abydos, a city on the Asiatic coast of the Hellespont. On the relief, Athena with an eagle on her lap, a symbol of Abydos, converses with a representative of the proxenoi (consuls). First quarter of the 4th century BC. Acropolis Museum, Athens, Greece.
