Légende

Roger of Lauria (Lauria, c.1245-Valencia, 1305). Italian admiral in Aragonese service. Commander of the fleet of the Crown of Aragon during the War of the Sicilian Vespers. Roger of Lauria depicted during a naval battle at the time of boarding. Inscription: Approached by Guillermo Carner meets him and crosses him with a blow of a weapon called azcona, 1285. Right side bas-relief in bronze (150 x 70 cm). Monument to Roger of Lauria, by Catalan sculptor Felix Ferrer i Galceran (1843-1912) in 1887. It was placed in the Rambla Nova of Tarragona in 1889.
