Minoan period. Knossos Palace. Bronze Age. Bull-leaping Fresco, ca. 1400 BC. It depicts a young man performing what seems to be a handspring or flip over a charging bull. Bull Leaping was a local sport, during which the athlete had to execute jumps over and on the bull. It was a ritual dedicated to Apollo. Period MM IIIB. Archaeological Museum of Heraklion. Crete, Greece.
