Magic Lantern slide circa 1900 hand coloured. created in 1887. A tour of North Wales. 10. Conway Falls and Salmon Ladder.— Continuing upwards along the side of the beautiful Conway Yalley, the eye rests on some of the sweetest and fairest scenes to be met with anywhere in Wales. The little river rushes and murmers along at the bottom of the valley, and on the other side rise the fir clad hills and rocks, until on arriving at the Falls, the end of the valley seems to terminate in a mass of steep rocks, the river coming down as a couple of waterfalls, one on each side. The well known Salmon ladder, built up on the rocks between the two falls, having been allowed to re¬main out of repair, we presume its intention to assist the salmon to ascend the river did not prove a success.
