Great Explorers - 1785 the tragedy of L'Astrolabe. At the command of Jean Francois La Perouse this ship was lost after reaching the shores of Australia. Many crew members died in the clashes with the natives. The torture of one of them by a native that burns slowly over an open fire. (Illustration 1916).
