Maritime territory,russia, march 18 2003: picture shows some cargo trains loaded with illigal timber at the grodekovo railway station on the russia-china frontier, over 1,5 million cubic meters of timber are illegally logged in the far eastern primorye region and the wood is sold to china at cheap prices, according to a report of the bureau of regional public companies,it was announed that 3 million cubic meters of oak, cedar and ash were exported to china from primorye in 2001 and a big part was chopped illegally, chinese traders pay 100 us dollars per cubic meter and resell the wood at home 4-5 times more expensive.
