He particularly emphasizes the positions of the following corps in the U.S. Army of the Potomac: 2nd Corps (commanded by Winfield Scott Hancock), 3rd Corps (commanded by Daniel Edgar Sickles), 5th Corps (commanded by George Gordon Meade), 11th Corps (commanded by Oliver Otis Howard), and 12th Corps (commanded by Henry Warner Slocum).
